003. Ordinary and extraordinary Scott

"Hey!"

Roger said angrily: "Are you also fascinated by Lockhart's glittering smirk?"

"Although the cover photo is stupid, there is some knowledge in the book that is worth seeing." Scott gave an objective evaluation.

Roger began to complain: "You know, I had a feeling that Lockhart's teaching level might even be worse than Chillo, and he was more like a star than a professor. To be honest, I really don't understand why Dumbledore always finds some weird people to teach the Dark Magic Defense. This makes us almost only able to handle exams by self-study in this subject."

He obviously lost confidence in the dark magic defense class for the new school year.

Scott thought for a while and guessed: "There should be almost no wizards take the initiative to apply for this position. After all... From the past history, the curse against this course should be true, which has led to many male and female wizards avoiding it. Oh, except Snape."

After all, Hogwarts's Black Magic Defense Course has changed professors every year for decades, and many professors who have served this course have not ended up being very good.

This fact is well-known in the British magic circle.

"This is the only reason why Lockhart can become a professor."

Roger reluctantly accepted the answer.

"If it was Snape..."

He began to imagine as Scott said...

"If Snape successfully applied for the position of professor of Dark Magic Defense... then the biggest possibility is that he will completely leave Hogwarts in a year? Why didn't Dumbledore agree to his request?"

Roger was sprayed with Snape's venom in previous potion classes, which made him so excited that he just imagined that Snape might leave Hogwarts.

"That's obviously impossible."

Scott mercilessly broke his delusions.

"Dumbledore wouldn't make Snape a consumable for that position. Although Snape's teaching method in potion classes is hard to adapt, he is a precious potion master after all."

"I know." Roger said dejectedly, "so I can only think about it."

The two of them just chatted and finished all the food Scott brought.

"So you came to me specifically, just to help me consume food, Roger?"

Scott packed the garbage in a bag.

"No." Roger said, "I want to ask if you want to participate in the Quidditch Academy team selection? After all, you know, we have players who have graduated again."

"No need. I hope you still remember that I participated with you when I was in the second grade. I'm sorry I lost the election."

Scott casually put the garbage aside and rejected Roger's proposal.

"But you still have an interest in Quidditch? And you are talented, remember, Scott, you pitched very accurately in the second grade when you were in the selection..." He whispered a little, "but he was a little bit worse in flight before he lost the election."

When talking about Quidditch's topic, Roger was as excited as most young wizards. He was looking forward to playing games with his friends.

"Listen, our team is missing a chaser now. I think you can try it, and I think you will succeed this time!"

Scott still shook his head, "Sorry, Roger, you know, after the first grade flight class, I didn't have the chance to exercise and improve my ability to control the flying broom."

He knew his ability to fly, and that wasn't enough to get him into a tense Quidditch match.

It is not surprising that the little wizards from Muggle-born are indeed not as good as those from wizard families in the flying skill.

Unless you have the most amazing flying talent like Harry Potter.

Little wizards from wizard families start riding toy brooms since they can't walk. Little wizards from muggles don't get in touch with them for the first time until they enter school at the age of 11, and they don't have any chance to practice except for first-grade flight classes.

As for Scott's flying talent - it can only be said to be mediocre.

Although he can improve his level through continuous practice, he is not as interested in Quidditch as that.

However, Roger seemed not to listen to his words, and he still persuaded: "Are you going to spend all your time studying like last school year? Oh! That's awful! You should realize that even if we are Ravenclaw, it doesn't mean we don't need to have fun in our studies..."

"stop."

Scott raised his hand and asked Roger to stop his chatter.

"I know you want me to play with you, Roger," he said, "but you are obviously blindly optimistic about the level of your roommate."

But Roger insisted: "I think you can do it. You are always so smart, Scott, you must know that I didn't persuade Milton to join Quidditch."

Milton Grevis, another roommate of the two, is a sentimental literary boy, whose biggest hobby is playing cello.

"What an honor, compared to Milton, I am indeed of high quality."

Scott smirked again.

You know, the final evaluation Milton got in his first grade flight class was D (Dreadful/Sorry).

Scott received an A (Acceptable/pass).

Seeing that Scott was determined, Roger could only say reluctantly: "Okay, your own will is the most important."

After all... if Scott's flight had no progress as he said, it would be impossible to pass the selection.

Roger encouraged Scott to participate in the selection to make Scott work with him as the team's chaser because he felt that Scott, as his best friend, would show a tacit understanding with him during the game that others did not have.

But his hope seemed to be dashed.

"But I have to say that even in Ravenclaw you are the one who is most addicted to learning, Scott." Roger let go of Quidditch's topic and said with an exaggerated expression, "Especially last school year, you were completely devoted to your woods and stones, and you didn't even sit in the audience for the Quidditch game!"

Although Scott has a mediocre flying talent and is still out of the Quidditch team selection in the second grade, he also has his own strengths.

Since first grade admission, although his performance was not top-notch in most courses set in the school, but he was not very outstanding or bad, but he performed very well in the transformation class.

The professor of this course is Minerva McGonagall, vice president of Hogwarts School of Magic and dean of Gryffindor College, a professor who is very strict with students. But even she couldn't help but smile and praise Scott for his "excellent talent" in the subject of Transformation.

Scott felt that since he had this talent, he had to work hard to give full play to his advantages. So Scott has been studying and experimenting with topics related to deformation in his spare time.

The last school year was a critical period for his research. In order to obtain visible and beautiful results, he always raced against time to sink into it, so he missed a lot of activities.

At this time, Roger's expression was like Scott did something unforgivable if he didn't go to watch the Quidditch game.
