Chapter Thirteen: The Marquis in the Dark
The hotel is as popular as ever, and a large group of vampire hunters are distributed in every corner of the hotel in circles. Today, except for the more murderous atmosphere, other places are no different from when I came here last time.
"Equip them, like the Viscount team, you need a big ball stick and a billiard club." There is also the difference. He did not say nonsense all day long like he did last time, but instead took Sebastian and me to a remote side door.
The head of the gatekeeper glanced at Sebastian and me, nodded at Christo, "Wait here," he reminded us, turned around and opened the closed thick iron door with the key.
With a bang, the iron gate closed in front of us again. Christo did not speak anymore, and Sebastian remained silent. I had to say nothing, for fear that reckless speech would disrupt their thoughts.
Not long after, the iron gate opened again, and the person in charge of the gate walked out with two big backpacks, followed by a man holding something.
When the man approached, I found that he was holding a silver-handed sword and a silver-made sword, "This is a big ball stick, who do you use it?" The person in charge carefully took the two-handed sword out of the man's arms and asked while handing it to us.
"My, thank you," I nodded at him, walked forward and followed by a long sword with both hands and a matching sword sheath, and carried the sword behind me.
"Don't worry, boy," the person in charge shook his finger at me, turned around and took out the stinging sword, "Then is yours?"
Although his tone was in doubt, he directly handed the stinging sword to Sebastian.
"Yes, thank you very much." Sebastian took the sword, put a sword flower in his hand, hung the sword around his waist, and nodded with satisfaction.
"Then there are two sets of clothes. The leather armor produced by the guild is guaranteed by Christo. So this time it is free. The next time you buy it, you will have to spend guild gold coins. It can defend against Viscount's full-strength attack. Of course, the leather armor will be torn open directly, but there is always an extra chance, right?"
I nodded in agreement and took the leather armor over.
"There are places to change clothes over there," the person in charge pointed to the cubicles next to it. "Also remember, this clothes cannot prevent the evil magic of vampires, so be careful when facing the Viscount, don't be smashed into a magical slap in your head or suck it into a mummy."
I turned around, smiled gratefully at him, then closed the wooden door of the compartment and began to change clothes.
The leather armor produced by the Vampire Hunter Guild is of good texture and very light weight. I can hardly feel any obstacle when I wear it. I moved my limbs and walked out with my clothes.
"It's very suitable for you," Christo exclaimed, throwing the sword with both hands to me, and the sword with the stinging sword to Sebastian who had just walked out.
"Let's go."
He shouted at us, then turned around and walked out of the hotel.
"You are going too?" The members of the Viscount Hunting Team were already ready to go outside the hotel. To my surprise, I saw Christo among them.
"Yes," Christo nodded, and pointed to the three men in robes in the team. "Those are guild psychics. We decided not to make the same mistakes as last time. We specially invited them to spy on people's inner secrets, and vampires can do it."
"So," he took his finger back and pointed at himself, "As the head of the intelligence team, I have to follow and collect some information. The injured viscount is not something I can meet every day, and I don't want to kill them and another count ran out."
I nodded. The injured Viscount is indeed a good source of information. If they can be captured alive and completely destroyed, it will be an excellent research object.
"Ladies and gentlemen, hehe! Pay attention!" While I was thinking, Christo had already jumped into the wooden box on the side of the road and shouted.
His call quickly attracted everyone's attention. Under everyone's gaze, he nodded and continued, "I believe many of you know me, right? I am Christo, the head of the intelligence team, and the person in charge this time. What I want to say is that there will be no second opportunity, so if you are ready, let's go?"
The hunters below raised their weapons and replaced their answers with cheers and roars.
"Very good," Christo clapped his hands with satisfaction, jumped off the wooden box, "Go now!"
A group of seventeen people set out from the Silver Blood Hotel in a mighty manner and rushed directly to the hiding place of Viscount Beaumont mentioned in the information.
"It's been a long time since the Guild has been operating during the day, it's really nostalgic."
On the way to the hiding place, Sebastian said to me with a remembrance, "It seems that the guild is very confident this time."
"Why are there no daytime action?" I asked curiously.
"There were many in the past. At that time, people were our helpers. Vampires had nowhere to hide in the city. One died," Seeing that I asked the question, the remembrance on Sebastian's face became even deeper. "My father is a vampire hunter. I had the honor to hear him talk about this. It's a pity."
"What happened later?"
"The vampire found a way, just like I told you," Sebastian's face disappeared, and turned into an angry look. "There are more and more traitors among human beings, and daytime actions have become dangerous moves. You don't know who is their eyeliner."
"In fact," he looked at the crowd around him, leaned into my ear and lowered his voice, "There are very likely vampire eyeliners among these onlookers."
"Vampire's eyeliner?"
"Yes, they don't necessarily know that they are working for vampires, they may just be working for what they think is big people, and big people working with vampires."
"I understand." I nodded and sighed. This was indeed an intractable problem.
The team suddenly stopped, and many people in the crowd became extremely serious, and the atmosphere suddenly became tense and solemn, which made me understand that we had already arrived at the place.
Beaumont's hiding place is a three-story low building, and the first two floors must be crowded with inferior vampires, which is undoubtedly.
"Preparation." Christo signaled the two of them to come to the door, and asked the third person to take out two Holy Water grenades, then waved his arms vigorously, "Breakthrough!"
The man leaning against the left side of the gate kicked open the gate with force, and the vampire's roar immediately came out of the inside.
Then the sun's light, I saw that many times the vampires had woken up from their dormancy, and they were so fast that they even stood up.
But the hunters were moving faster, and the door was kicked open and two holy water grenades were thrown in.
"Bang bang!" An explosion came from inside, followed by a large number of vampires' wailings.
"Come on!" Christo shouted three times, and the hunters took out their silver melee weapons and rushed into the dark building.
"Flame!" Sebastian beside me roared, and the second-level rune-like burst fireball instantly formed in his hand.
"It's a spell! All dodge! All dodge!" The hunters who saw Sebastian summoning fireballs immediately roared. The hunters in front looked back and then opened a passage as fast as possible.
Sebastian nodded and threw out the fireball in his hand with force. The hot fireball shot forward quickly along the vacant passage of the hunters, and in the blink of an eye it disappeared into the dark building.
A violent explosion came from the building, and the flames rushed up from various places and soon turned into a fire. After waiting for a while, the water mage among the hunters summoned the water bomb and extinguished the ignited flames bit by bit. Then they rushed in under the escort of another group of hunters.
"People often mix rune art and spells, so use it with confidence." Before entering the door, Sebastian said in a voice that only me and him could hear, and blinked at me.
I nodded, raised my long sword and rushed in with the large army.
There are burning traces in many places on the first floor of the building. In such a narrow space, Sebastian's burst fireball caused considerable damage. I have seen many charred corpses along the way, probably all of which are Sebastian's masterpieces.
The only thing that made me feel a little uncomfortable was the smell in the building. The vampire's body must contain a lot of ammonia. After the fire, the entire building was filled with an indescribable stench.
I followed the large army and continued walking in. From time to time, there were slashing and roars in the depths of the building. It seemed that some of the lucky ones had avoided the deadly fireball.
The corpses found next proved my guess. The burnt corpses began to decrease, replaced by fresh beheaded corpses, and white sticky blood was still spewing out from the broken neck.
"Clear the first floor!" Unfortunately, before I could catch up with the front large army, I had already heard a shout, declaring the safety of the first floor. So I accelerated my pace and finally caught up with Sebastian at the stairs.
"Preparation of Holy Water Grenades!" At the entrance of the stairs on the second floor, Cristo issued another order. The hunters did the same and threw out a total of eight Holy Water Grenades.
After the violent explosion, there were extremely harsh wails coming from above.
"The second floor of Jingkong, every room must first throw holy water bombs, and the injured brothers must ask for help immediately!"
Amid the chaotic responses of the hunters, the entire army rushed to the second floor, and the doors were kicked open. The hunters were divided into several groups and quickly cleared the rooms.
"Throw a grenade!" A hunter in his thirties shouted in front of me. I nodded and threw the grenade into the room the moment he kicked open the door.
The smoke from the explosion floated out from inside. I drew out the silver giant sword and rushed into the room first.
The grenade easily hurt them as it was as if it was supposed to have done.
I easily strolled among these poor vampires, waved the giant sword in my hand, and harvested their lives.
The remaining three hunters in my group rushed in and began to deal with vampires on the ground, but their efficiency was not as high as mine. The wide giant sword could cut off the heads of several vampires at the same time with a light swing.
Things went well until a second-waited vampire threw me down.
God knows how he escaped. When I heard my teammates shouting in horror, a bad premonition surged in my heart, but the vampire was too fast that time, I just took my steps back and fell to the ground by him.
I immediately threw away my hands and wrestled with him. His scarlet eyes stared at me, his eyes full of desire for my blood, which made me feel very uncomfortable.
At this time, I began to miss my set of knight armor. The fists protected by the leather armor were almost no lethal. If I replaced them with knight armor, I could make his head bloom with a few punches.
The vampire opened her mouth repeatedly and wanted to bite me, but fortunately my strength was much stronger than his and he never got what he wanted.
The other hunters rushed over now, and a one-handed battle axe quickly passed by my eyes, cutting off his entire head.
Before white blood was sprayed out from the broken neck, I threw the corpse aside. The white blood was so disgusting that I didn't want to get even a little bit of it.
"Are you okay, friend?" One hand stretched out from above, I held the hand and stood up with his help.
"I'm fine, thank you," the master of the tomahawk, the hunter in his thirties who commanded me, "a good axe." I smiled at him and praised.
He nodded without saying anything, and the news of the second floor clearance also came here.
"It seems we can go to the third floor," the tomahawk man gestured at me, "I haven't seen the Viscount yet, together?"
"Extremely happy." I grinned and walked towards the stairs with him.
When we got here, most of the hunters had gathered together. Unlike the situation on the first floor, many hunters were covered in white blood and seemed to have experienced a fierce battle.
"I will go up first with Sebastian, three warlocks," Christo stood in the opening on the second floor to the third floor, and said loudly, "I've confirmed that there is no danger, or that the Viscount is too difficult, and the rest of you come up again, otherwise it will be easy to be caught off guard at the entrance."
No one objected, it was a very stable approach. Christo nodded and walked up to the third floor with Sebastian, with three psychic warlocks following.
We waited silently on the second floor, and Christo's voice came quickly: "You can come up."
There was joy and weirdness in the tone, as if I had encountered something incredible.
We quickly climbed to the third floor, and then saw something that surprised Christo.
Viscount Beaumont is still alive, but he is surrounded by an extremely huge monster mummy.
I know what that is, a vampire, a mummy.
The sign on his horns indicates that he is another viscount, but how is this possible? The blood-sucking monster was sucked into a mummy?
The psychic warlock had already controlled Beaumont, his eyes were dissipated and he sat on a chair like a fool.
"What's going on, dirty vampire!? Why did your companion turn into mummies?"
Christo stood in front of him and asked loudly.
"There is a great Marquis in the city! He sucked Saphis dry because of the rude fool. I don't know why he beat me seriously, but it doesn't matter, a Marquis! The Marquis in the dark is watching you, hunters! Your doomsday is coming, hahahaha!"
Beaumont's words frowned. A marquis is no more than a baron or viscount. This is a very serious situation.
