Chapter 19 Chiyang Walks Together(1/2)
Chapter 19 Traveling with Chiyang
The day's plan begins in the morning. At sunrise, the first ray of rising sun shines into the temple house through the broken windows.
The beggar yawned, rubbed his eyes and sat up.
Swallowing saliva to moisten his throat, he stood up quickly and looked over towards Mo Yu softly. When he found that there was no movement, he smiled slightly and walked out of the house.
As soon as Beggar went out, Mo Yu opened his eyes, looked up at the roof, stood up silently, and walked outside.
When I walked outside the door, the sky turned white and became clear.
Mo Yu stretched his body and saw no sign of the beggar. The old beggar was still asleep.
Patting his clothes, rolling up his sleeves, he went straight to the broken water tank in the corner of the courtyard, picked up a wooden ladle, and scooped half of the pot into the rotten iron pot next to it.
Then he walked to the fire, picked up a few dry branches and threw them into the ashes of last night's fire.
He lowered his head and blew hard on the embers. As the ashes flew, a few sparks appeared, and the branches slowly lit up.
Satisfied as he watched the fire light up, Mo Yu's expression softened, he quickly stood up, placed the iron pot on the fire table, and closed the lid.
"Hey, Brother Mo Yu?"
Beggar's voice of surprise came from behind, and Mo Yu turned around so that Beggar could see him clearly.
"ah!"
With a scream, Beggar ran over in panic, pulled Mo Yu's sleeve, and said anxiously: "Brother Mo Yu, why are you out? It's very humid when you get up early, which is not good for your health."
With that said, he pulled Mo Yu towards the house.
Mo Yu just broke through the first level of Tianman Realm today, and his strength is not something that a beggar can pull off.
He didn't move for a long time, took Beggar's arm, and said softly: "Beggar, I've healed everything, there's no need to worry about that anymore."
"Oh, what a ghost screaming so early in the morning!"
The old beggar's dissatisfied voice came. Mo Yu and the other two looked back and found that he was smacking his lips. He sat up in confusion, fumbled for the wine bottle next to him and took another sip.
Pulling off his clothes, the old beggar stood up, dusted his buttocks, and glanced this way.
Especially looking at Mo Yu's face a few more times.
When he saw Mo Yu's rosy face and steady steps, he twitched the corner of his mouth and turned around to walk towards the outside of the temple.
"That's right, my hard work didn't go to waste, old man." He muttered.
Mo Yu once again corrected Qi'er's worries and emphasized that he was fine. Qi'er finally believed him and congratulated him happily.
"Beggars,"
Watching the water in the pot boiling, Mo Yu patted the beggar's head, pointed in the direction of the water tank and said, "I just saw that there are some eggs over there, go and get a few."
The beggar nodded in agreement, turned around, and after a while, he came over with three eggs.
There were two steamed buns in his arms, and he happily handed them to Mo Yu.
Mo Yu took the eggs, put them into the water along the edge of the pot, then picked up two chopsticks, placed them horizontally on the water, placed the steamed buns on top, and closed the lid of the pot.
Qier stared at Mo Yu's movements in surprise, only to realize that this big brother knew so much and was still so handy.
Seeing Beggar staring at him all the time, Mo Yu wanted to smile in response, but after a long time of trying to be shameless, what he showed was an ugly stiff smile.
I can't help it, I haven't laughed in a year, and I have forgotten how to laugh.
The beggar never cared about this. He smiled innocently, ran over again, took three bowls, and pulled Mo Yu to sit in front of the pot, waiting for breakfast to be ready.
The dry branches crackled with fire, and Mo Yu tilted his head.
Looking at the flawless beggar, he asked lightly: "Beggar, why are you so kind to me?"
Beggar was stunned at first, then lowered his head and thought about Mo Yu's question carefully.
After thinking for a long time, Mo Yu waited quietly for a long time. Finally, Beggar raised his head and replied slightly nervously,
"Beggars, grandpa, and brother Mo Yu are one family."
After saying that, he lowered his head and secretly looked at Mo Yu's reaction from the corners of his eyes.
Mo Yu's body stiffened and he stared at the fire. He didn't respond for a long time, which made the beggar next to him turn pale. He thought he had said the wrong thing and murmured without uttering a word.
Home!
Such familiar yet unfamiliar words.
Mo Yu was filled with worry, secretly suppressing the emotions in his heart, silently picked up a branch, fiddled with the fire, and gently patted the beggar's head with his left hand.
"Yes, we are a family, so we must take good care of grandpa in the future."
Beggar was still young and didn't know the meaning of Mo Yu's words. He just understood that his elder brother recognized him.
They cheered, danced and sang a ditty.
The sound of water in the pot boiled again. Mo Yu asked Beggar to put the bowl away and then opened the lid of the pot toward the other side.
The steam is rising, the eggs are cooked, and the steamed buns are soft and steaming.
Pick up another pair of chopsticks, put the two steamed buns into two bowls, and then put the three eggs in the pot into the third bowl.
Breakfast was prepared in such a simple way, but the old beggar didn't come back since he left just now.
Beggar looked towards the door in confusion. Mo Yu thought deeply and could vaguely guess something.
Sure enough, after another time of burning incense, the old beggar came back from outside.
Grinning, he cheerfully carried a bundle of wild vegetables, his few remaining teeth flashed at the two of them, walked over to the water tank, scooped out water and washed the wild vegetables.
Then, he threw the wild vegetables directly into the boiling pot, sprinkled some salt, and called Mo Yu and the two of them to have breakfast together.
Each person had one egg, one steamed bun, Mo Yu and the beggar shared one. The old beggar only ate half of it, along with the rice wine he had almost finished.
There was an occasional conversation, and after eating, the wild vegetable soup was cooked in the pot at the right time. The three of them had a bowl each, and drank comfortably to their full stomachs.
After the meal, Mo Yu helped the beggar clean up, while the old beggar held the wine flask and tugged on his beard, thinking hard about how to beg more today.
Although he still had a lot of silver left yesterday, he still had his own considerations.
After the rustles were cleaned up, Mo Yu proposed to go with the old beggar and the others.
Let's go to Chiyang City together. His body has recovered, and it's time for him to make plans. Today he just happens to go to the city to explore.
Hearing that Mo Yu wants to come together, the old beggar naturally wants it. If there are more people and more efforts, he may be able to get more money.
Beggar didn't think too much about it, he just felt that it was very happy to have his big brother accompanying him.
This was also a scene he had dreamed about.
After making up their mind, the three of them simply packed up, left the ruined temple along the wild path, and headed towards Chiyang City.
The journey was smooth, Mo Yu left the ruined temple for the first time, and occasionally paid attention to the scenery on the road.
When the beggar saw this, he would happily pull on Mo Yu's sleeves and introduce them one by one.
Just talking and laughing like this, the three of them didn't feel that they were far away.
When the sun was rising just above their heads, they also happened to arrive outside Chiyang City.
"Beggar, old man,"
In the queue of people entering the city, Mo Yu called to the two people in front of him.
The old beggar's ears twitched, he turned to look at Mo Yu, spittle flew out and asked: "What's the matter, you brat?"
Beggar turned back out of curiosity, waiting for Mo Yu to say something.
Mo Yu looked at the two of them, hesitation flashed in his eyes, but it only lasted for a moment before he regained his composure.
He replied: "I will enter the city later and I want to walk around alone."
"What?"
The old beggar's eyes widened and he approached Mo Yu with his ears tilted uncertainly. The beggar also had a puzzled expression on why he was like this.
Mo Yu's face did not change, it was as calm as ever. He was now used to this expression.
"I have some personal matters that I want to deal with." He replied while staring at their faces.
"Brother Mo Yu,"
The beggar looked at it with bright eyes and wanted to say something, but the old beggar grabbed his arm and interrupted with a wave of his hand: "Brother Mo Yu has something to do, so don't get involved in it."
"Okay, you can do whatever you want, but you have to be careful when entering the city and don't offend those uncles. Otherwise, we low-keys might suffer a lot."
This sentence was said to Mo Yu.
Upon hearing this, Beggar said obediently, stopped asking questions, and raised his fist at Mo Yu with a smile.
The old beggar turned around and muttered something.
Perhaps there were too many people, so the gatekeepers checked very quickly, and soon the three of them were able to enter the city.
Standing on the bustling main city road, looking at the bustling scene of traffic.
After greeting the two of them, Mo Yu turned around and walked towards the street on the left, but before taking two steps, the old beggar stopped him.
To be continued...
