153. The decisive battle of the dunk king

(Read the full text of the Reading House without pop-up windows)

The slam dunk contest is an extremely important event on the NBA All-Star Weekend, second only to the All-Star Game. This event was established in 1984 and has created countless super slam dunk wizards. In the past 20 years, Weber, who is only 170cm tall, has been amazing and won the championship, allowing people to see "I can, infinite possibilities", and Wilkins, who is known as the "element of movies", made a comeback five years later, as well as the defending battle between basketball gods Jordan and Jason Richardson.

The rules of this event are very simple. The game is divided into two rounds, with each person dunking three times in the first round. The three players with the highest total score advance to the final. The one with the highest score can play in the final. Each person deducts twice in the final stage, and the champion with the highest score is.

In 1994, there were 6 players participating in the slam dunk contest, and the order of appearance was determined based on the draw. Each person dunked three times in the first round, and the three players with the highest score advanced to the finals. The one with the highest score could play in the finals. Each person deducted twice in the finals, and the champion with the highest score was the champion.

However, the rules gradually improved, and the players who participated returned to the four-player list, with a total of four players playing. Last year, in 2007, in order to make the dunk contest more fair and just, the league introduced new rules. First, a dunk move of the contestants must be completed within two minutes.

The reason for this rule is that Robinson did a complete move 17 times in the final of the 2006 Slam Dunk Contest. This scene is really speechless.

Second, the 2007 Slam Dunk Competition will introduce a video playback mechanism to create conditions for judges to score more accurately.

Finally, there are new rules in this year's slam dunk competition, and this rule has changed a lot, which directly affects the competition for the dunk king.

In the new rules, the first round rules remain unchanged, and four players take turns to dunk and the judges score. The full score of a dunk move given to a certain player by each judge is 10 points, and the sum of the highest scores given by the five judges is up to 50 points. Such dunks are usually called "perfect pour".

There are two dunks in the first round, with the highest score of 100 points and the lowest score is 60 points. If the dunk fails, there is a chance to make up the dunk once, but the balls that have been dunked shall not be made up for the dunk, and the judges' power will end here.

Starting from this season, the judges have only the right to decide the players who enter the finals in the All-Star Dunk Competition. After entering the finals, the players with lower scores in the first round will appear first, and the two take turns to deter. After completing two actions, fans can finally decide the title through mobile text messages and voting on the NBA official website. That is to say, in the finals, the voting of the judges is no different from the fans' voting.

The referee team of this slam dunk contest shines with stars. The five judges are Flying Jordan, Dr. J. Irving, Kobe, Malone, and Wilkins. Except for Malone, the other four have won the dunk king. Although Malone has never won the dunk king, he was also a brave dunker in his early career, and he was no pressure to be the judge of the dunk contest.

The first to play was Moon, who had been in Harlem’s basketball team. His first dunk really released a peaceful light like the name “Moon”. After starting the right wing run, he threw the ball and smashed the ground and then received a rebound ball and then a slam dunk. His movements were very relaxed, like the moonlight shining on the earth, but the difficulty was not very high. At least for the five judges, this dunk was really average, and he finally got 46 points, and only Dr. J gave him a full score.

Jordan looked at Irving's full score and said, "This score really surprised me. You know, I feel that I can do such a move even if I take off my suit and appear."

Owen shrugged, "I just feel like this kid needs encouragement."

It is indeed not easy for Moon. Being able to gain a foothold in NBA is a miracle for him. His career experiences are combined together and he can write a novel.

The second appearance was Warcraft. Howard stood behind the rebound. He first hit the ball behind the rebound, and then immediately jumped in the air and stretched his arm over the rebound and dunked the ball with one arm. However, he failed the first time. After considering it, he gave up his previous plan and adopted a steady approach for the second time. His head was stuck behind the rebound, and extended his long arm to dunk the ball.

The ball was very creative, and Jordan and others applauded and gave him the highest 10 points. Howard got the first full score.

Chamberlain was the third one to play. The moment he got the ball, the Chinese fans all started to cheer like boiling water. As the core of the sound, Chamberlain raised his hand high, pointed at the fans all over the court, gave a thumbs up, and then slowly drove the ball forward in an ugly and clumsy manner.

There is no doubt that Chamberlain is not very skilled in dribbling the ball now, but compared with ordinary inside players, this is already very good. Four months of hard training are not in vain. However, for fans who have just finished watching the Skills Challenge, this dribbling posture is obviously ugly.

Seeing Chamberlain's dribbling posture like this, Malone smiled and said to several friends: "If his dunk is as inferior as his dribbling, then should we sympathize with this international compatriot and try not to give him zero points?"

Kobe shook his head and smiled, "No, I want to give him zero points. Don't stop me, I have to seek revenge on him. This guy has defeated me three times, this bastard!"

The referee's words had no effect on Chamberlain. He walked into the three-point line, put away the ball and leaned, and accelerated directly to the peak like a cheetah and rushed out.

In contrast to the previous slow motion, Chamberlain ran forward so fast that it made the fans feel as if they were blurred and they lost Chamberlain's shadow.

Chamberlain made great strides and swayed into the basket. His legs were bent down, and his body was rising into the air like a dragon coming out of the sea. His body jumped so high, as if he was about to break through the ceiling of the gymnasium and fly.

It took only half a second to Chamberlain's eyes to the ring, and just when everyone thought he was going to dunk, he was still rising!

His lips were flat with the ring. Chamberlain gently leaned over the ring and kissed the ring with his lips. Then he pulled his body back and bent his slender and powerful legs back to form a perfect strong bow. He treated the basketball in his hand as a sharp arrow, and dunked the ball into the ring fiercely and gracefully.

At the same time, Chamberlain teared his hands hard on the ring and pushed his strong waist forward, so that his descending body had a stagnant gap. The gap was as short as only one percent of a second, but it was enough to get this gap. He leaned his head up again and kissed the ring with his lips again!

After landing, many fans who were far away didn't know what was going on, so they hurriedly looked up at the big screen above the court.

When all the movements were parsed out in slow motion, the brief silence followed by a tsunami-like cry. Almost all fans raised the scoreboard in their hands, and they all raised the '10' points.

Jordan clapped and stood up. He raised the scoreboard in his hand and naturally gave a ten. Kobe followed closely and also gave ten. Irving and Wilkins had nothing to say, and also gave ten, but Malone, who had the last score, gave Chamberlain nine points.

Seeing Malone's scoreboard, Chamberlain almost cursed in anger. It seems that the hatred between him and the Jazz will be over until death. This dog-going elite still stuck him.

Not only Chamberlain, but seeing Malone give nine points, the fans at the scene booed fiercely, and nearly 10,000 fans raised their middle fingers at him.

Chamberlain looked indifferent but greeted Ma Long's family in his heart. Howard stood beside him with a smile and stretched out a dark finger and said, "Almost, boy, you almost scored the same as me."

Chamberlain curled his lips and said, "That would be a shame."

Howard was depressed and shouted, "Your score is lower than mine. Isn't that shame?"

Chamberlain shrugged indifferently: "What's the shame of this? I'm definitely the dunk king anyway."

The finale of the first round was defending champion Gerald Green. He just celebrated his 21st birthday on the 26th of last month. This time he made a birthday cake with the help of a birthday cake - he lit the cake and placed it on the neck of the basket. A teammate knocked the ball up behind the basket. Green received the ball with his arms and blew out the birthday candles at the same time.

This dunk idea is also good, and it is very consistent with the founding purpose of the All-Star Game, which is to have fun with the people. It is just that Chamberlain's double-kiss frame dunk beads were in front, and the famous referees were not very grateful. They did not adapt to the cheers and gave full marks, but only gave 45 points - Malone gave full marks, but Jordan only gave 8 points.

According to the rules of the dunk contest, the defending champion Green first played in the second round, because he scored the lowest in the first round, which was 45 points.

This time his dunk was quite creative. He found a partner to sit on an elevated stand in front of the rebound. When Green started, he threw the ball over the basket. In this way, Green jumped and received the ball and dunked it in with a windmill. As a result, the referees seemed determined to not deal with him today, and only gave him 45 points. This time, even Malone didn't give him full marks.

Chamberlain hugged his arms and looked at the referees' ratings, and he quietly said to Howard: "Do you know why these guys gave Green so low scores?"

Howard shook his head and Chamberlain curled his lips: "They don't want to see us juniors break too many records. Who made Green the dunk king last season? These old guys don't want to see the second defending dunk king."

Howard suddenly realized and nodded, "I think so too."

Chamberlain asked, “Do you really think so?”

Howard nodded, and then Chamberlain showed a malicious smile on his face. He pulled him behind him with his head raised to watch the game and said loudly: "Do you know why the referees gave Green so low scores? Howard said it was because these old guys didn't want to see the second defending dunk king appear. They deliberately suppressed Green and superstars suppressed the newcomers!"

After hearing this, Howard was so heartbroken that he couldn't cry. How could he be such a mean person?

Kidd had a big mouth. Chamberlain said this. It would probably not take long to reach the reporter's ears and the whole world would know everything.

Howard wanted to settle the score with Chamberlain, but Moon started to play, and Chamberlain started to prepare as the third person to appear.

In the second round, Moon took the "leap from behind the free throw line" action that was hotly discussed among the public. He first put a white tape in front of the free throw line and called Capono, who had just been crowned the three-pointer. Capono stood under the basket with the ball, Moon jumped empty-handed and received Capono's pass dunk in the air.

This dunk gimmick is also very complete. Unfortunately, Moon failed in the first time doing this move. Capono's pass to him made him dunk on the ring. Chamberlain was so happy that he shouted from behind: "Be careful to sprain his waist!"

After the first move failed, Moon's second move was not really completed. On the one hand, he "jumped the line" when jumping, and the slam dunk was not clear. In this way, he only scored 44 points in the end, with a total score of 90 points in the two rounds, which was lower than Green's 91 points, which was almost eliminated.

Chamberlain was the third player to play. He took two balls from the referee, then threw a kiss to the five scoring referees from the air, grabbed one ball in one hand and ran to the basket quickly.

With a big step towards the free throw line, Chamberlain stepped into the free throw line with his right foot, roared angrily, and stepped hard on the floor, and his strength penetrated his legs through his ankles. Then the wild power filled his whole body like a flood, and flew up to the ring with him diagonally.

Facing the ring, Chamberlain was getting closer and closer. When the ring appeared within reach, he swung his right arm forward and smashed the ball into the ring. Then, he grabbed the ring with his right hand and teared it forward, so that his body that began to descend began to rise again.

The armed helicopter flew up suddenly, and Chamberlain's muscles on his arms that were exposed outside were bulging like rocks. His left hand grabbed the ball under his waist, raised it over his head, and smashed the ball in his hand into the ring again.

Faced with the voice of the "dunk king" like a tsunami collapse in the whole game, Kobe, Jordan and four others happily gave 10 points, and Malone deserved his reputation as a tough guy, gritted his teeth and gave another nine points, so Chamberlain's final score was still 49 points.

Chamberlain couldn't make an indifferent expression now. He gritted his teeth and secretly decided to meet the Jazz again in the future. They would not be able to bloom if they had to play.

However, after two rounds of dunks, Chamberlain surpassed Moon's 91 points and Green's 90 points with 98 points. No matter how Howard performs, he can advance to the finals.

But Howard's performance opened Chamberlain's eyes and he finally began to be cautious. Howard was qualified to compete with him for the dunk king because this guy not only dunked extremely well, but also was full of entertainment. Before dunking, he brought a telephone booth, then changed his clothes in the telephone booth, and ran out in a standard Superman dress.

Howard is well aware of the spirit of entertainment. His actions have gained him great popularity. The fans shouted: "Super-man!Super-man!Super-man!"

Seeing this scene, the judges laughed. Those who win the hearts of the people will win the world. As long as the fans like Howard, the final dunk king will definitely be his.

After Warcraft put on the Superman cloak, he stepped behind the free throw line - just like Moon before - with a white tape, and after receiving the rebound, he dunked the ball hard, and the referee gave another 50 points. Although Howard did not have the obvious movement of touching the basket with his hand in the details, the jumping effect of the high jump combined with the stretching of the red cloak is very expressive.
