Only with the power of thought can you have enough realm to use it."

The four solemn characters "Maha Zhiguan" on it let him know that this was the method of cultivation in their lineage.

"This book details the Zen method, which was inherited from Sakyamuni and Nagarjuna Bodhisattva in one continuous line. It is divided into three types of samatha and vipassanā: gradual, indefinite, and perfect. After practicing to the end, in the realm of perfect harmony of the three truths, one can establish the view of three thousand thoughts in one thought.

"Master, I wonder if there is a way for disciples to practice and comprehend the three great mudra of the Great Sun Tathagata?"

"Disciple, wait until you have completed the 'State of Views' in the Mahasamatha-Vipassana, and then come and discuss this issue with me."

All views?

With deep doubts, Ji Boyi did not dare to expose himself too much and did not ask any more questions. He stood up and clasped his hands in front of the skinny old monk and performed a Buddhist salute.

There are ten chapters in the entire sutra, namely, the main idea, the explanation of the name, the physical appearance, the photographing method, the partial circle, the expedient, the correct view, the result, the initiation of teaching, and the return of the purpose, which are referred to as the ten broad chapters.

The first "General Chapter" is the general outline of the book, and the next nine chapters are summarized into five sections: developing a great intention, cultivating great practices, feeling great results, breaking the great net, and returning to the great cause. To briefly outline the general outline of the book, it is referred to as the Five Strategies.

The two together are called Five Strategies and Ten Broadnesses.

However, for Ji Youyi, only the seventh "Zhengguan Chapter" is the most important, because this chapter is the method of practicing samatha and vipassanā, and it is also the center of the whole book.

There are ten realms and ten views in total!

The so-called ten realms are the realm of yin, the realm of troubles, the realm of illness, the realm of karma, the realm of demons, the realm of meditation, the realm of views, the realm of contemplation, the realm of the two vehicles, and the realm of Bodhisattva!

The ten contemplations include contemplating unimaginable situations, truly generating bodhicitta, being skillful and at ease, breaking the Dharma, clearing up blockages in knowledge, adjusting the Tao and qualities, treating and opening the door, knowing the order, being able to be patient, and being free from the love of Dharma!

The former is the state of one's own understanding of Buddhism, and the latter is the power of practice.

Generally speaking, if a Buddhist disciple does not have a heaven-defying opportunity like sudden enlightenment from the beginning of his practice, it will probably take hundreds of years to reach the "realm of all views".

However, the educational methods used by Zen Master Lingyou were different. More than three years of hard training in the early stage allowed Ji Boyi to accumulate a lot and advance to the "meditation state" in one fell swoop.

It is only one step away from the "realm of various views"!
