Chapter 9 The Past(1/2)

Zhou Luoyang rarely goes to observe Du Jing specifically. After dinner, they always follow the steps, put on their headphones to do their homework, read books, watch movies or surf the Internet after finishing. Zhou Luoyang rarely pays attention to what Du Jing is doing. The dormitory of the Tinghuku Building is a standard two-person room, unlike a four-person room with a bed and a table, where the desk and the bed are separated.

The bed is facing the window, and there are separate wardrobe, storage cabinet, bookshelves and desks. Most of the time they cannot see each other and will not deliberately look at them.

It was normal at night. At eleven o'clock, Zhou Luoyang looked at Du Jing from the dressing mirror and found Du Jing sitting quietly, staring at a can in a daze. The scene made Zhou Luoyang a little worried.

"Sleep?" Zhou Luoyang got up to wash, and Du Jing turned off the headlights and left only a desk lamp.

At 11:20, Zhou Luoyang lay on the bed, turned around twice, and was very quiet to the bed. Zhou Luoyang checked his cell phone and thought Du Jing was most likely to be depressed. He had never been in contact with a patient with depression and didn't know how to get along with him for a while.

He is taking medicine continuously and taking it on time every day. There should be no accident, right?

At twelve o'clock, Zhou Luoyang gently exclaimed, suspecting that Du Jing might not have fallen asleep again. After all, insomnia was mentioned on his Weibo account. That is to say, the night he thought Du Jing fell asleep was not the case. Only Zhou Luoyang slept well. Du Jing only opened his eyes all night until dawn, and had to be careful not to make noises, for fear of waking him up.

"Du Jing?" Zhou Luoyang whispered.

Du Jing answered several seconds later, "Yes."

Zhou Luoyang asked: "Are you asleep?"

Du Jing replied: "Not yet, why haven't you been sleeping?"

Zhou Luoyang could hear Du Jing's voice, but he was indeed awake.

He had also suffered from insomnia, and it felt quite painful, both tired and unable to sleep.

"I drank two cups of coffee in the afternoon," Zhou Luoyang said, "it's over now."

“When did I drink it?”

"When you went to class, you bought a cup for you. I forgot that you had a single meal, so I drank it myself."

"What should I do now?" Du Jing asked.

"What do you think?" Zhou Luoyang actually didn't drink coffee, but he decided to accompany Du Jing for a while, otherwise it would be too uncomfortable for Du Jing to lie until dawn.

Du Jing's answer was as always: "I don't know, what do you want to do?"

Du Jing turned over. Under the moonlight, Zhou Luoyang saw that Du Jing's eyes were bright. He wanted to say, "Let's chat?" After all, this dormitory is too different. Other boys always chat for ten or twenty minutes after the lights are turned off, and they have never had time to chat before going to bed.

But Zhou Luoyang was afraid that Du Jing would not want to share too much, and was afraid that he would say the wrong thing.

"Can I turn on the light?" Zhou Luoyang said.

Du Jing turned on the bedside lamp, Zhou Luoyang also turned on the light, and the dormitory was brighter. Under the two lights in the middle of the night, the warmth was like a gentle blanket covering them.

Zhou Luoyang changed his mind and said, "I want to read a book for a while, if it disturbs you..."

"No," Du Jing said easily, "I want to read books, too."

Zhou Luoyang took out an unread novel, took out a bookmark, glanced at Du Jing, and Du Jing took a professional book and lay on the bed to read it. As soon as the light turned on, it seemed like he liberated from the dark prison. Du Jing's expression seemed to have changed significantly, which was much easier.

"Are you studying by yourself?" Zhou Luoyang asked, but his mind was not on the book.

Du Jing nodded, Zhou Luoyang stretched his neck and glanced, and said, "You should finish the preparations soon."

Du Jing replied: "I have nothing to do, I will be free after I finish learning early."

Zhou Luoyang had a few words in his mind, and he wanted to say, "What should I do when I am free?" However, when he thought of Du Jing's Weibo, he weighed for a while and joked: "If you graduate early, why don't you leave?"

Du Jing was silent for a while, raised his head from the book, looked at Zhou Luoyang, as if he was considering a request.

"You can also apply for early graduation." Du Jing said, "Do you want to compete with me? Let's see who finishes learning first?"

Zhou Luoyang laughed at himself and said, "I am not as smart as you. Let's take the postgraduate entrance examination together after graduation?"

Zhou Luoyang just unconsciously followed Du Jing's topic, but Du Jing said: "Okay, I'll finish my undergraduate degree in two years, and then take the postgraduate entrance examination together."

Zhou Luoyang thought I didn’t want it anymore, I would be exhausted.

The university they attended is a nationally renowned focus and is said to be ranked among the top three - although there are only two top2 companies in China and countless top3 companies, just like there are only seven of the Seven Miracles and countless eighth miracles. Therefore, there are many high-IQ students who think that studying is wasting time and quickly finish reading a large number of successful cases to realize the value of their lives.

Du Jing is very smart, Zhou Luoyang knows it. He can remember everything after reading the book and it is not bad at all. Is this accompanied by the gene of depression?

Zhou Luoyang checked the Internet in the afternoon and wanted to confirm Du Jing's condition, but found that Du Jing's behavior was quite different from the description of the disease.

Zhou Luoyang yawned and was already very sleepy, but he forced himself to dim the desk lamp a little, and started playing with his mobile phone. Du Jing quickly noticed it and asked, "Is sleepy?"

"Don't worry about me," Zhou Luoyang immediately stopped Du Jing and said, "I want to try to turn on the night light to sleep, maybe I can fall asleep."

At Zhou Luoyang's request, Du Jing's lamp was still on. Zhou Luoyang said again: "I slept very well after falling asleep. Can't you wake me up?"

"Discovered." Du Jing replied.

Zhou Luoyang laughed, turned over and faced inward, his eyelids were very heavy, and he fell asleep not long after. Du Jing still turned on his desk lamp for a whole night.

At 10 o'clock the next morning, when Zhou Luoyang woke up, he found that Du Jing seemed to have fallen asleep successfully. He did not post on Weibo this morning. So from that night, Zhou Luoyang took the initiative to change his daily routine for Du Jing. Originally, he did not like to sleep on the lights at home and was quite sensitive to sounds, but he could tolerate leaving a light for Du Jing at night. Anyway, he endured it and got used to it.

A few days later, Zhou Luoyang saw Du Jing's small trumpet again:

[It's boring, it's boring to do anything, the truth of life is absurd, as Camus said, we are all trapped in a meaningless cage.]

"I don't want to go," Zhou Luoyang said to Du Jing, "I decided to skip the class today."

Du Jing was taking the medicine after getting up early. After swallowing the medicine, he asked, "Where are you going? Sleeping in the dormitory?"

Zhou Luoyang said: "A pig? I just woke up and fell asleep. I want to go out for a walk. Are you going? If you don't want to go, please help me with a name."

Du Jing hesitated, and Zhou Luoyang accurately grasped his idea - he was judging that his original intention was to ask him to help with the name, or to invite him out together.

"Let's go, skip class and go out to play," Zhou Luoyang took the initiative. He always felt that Du Jing needed to relax, "You haven't been to many places yet."

"Let's go." Du Jing changed his clothes, grabbed a sports bag, and left the school with Zhou Luoyang.

The weather in Hangzhou this day was very bad. An autumn rain was brewing, hidden and unraveling. The air was still. Everyone on the edge of the West Lake had a clear look of worry on their faces, fearing that the water in the sky would suddenly spill down and they would become a chicken.

Zhou Luoyang brought Du Jing to Liu Langwenying for lunch. Most of them were young couples around. It seemed a bit strange for the two boys to sit opposite each other and drink Longjing tea.

It would be great if Du Jing was a great beauty. Zhou Luoyang thought to himself, even if I skip classes every day, I would be willing.

Du Jing seemed very comfortable. Zhou Luoyang could tell based on his expression. Because he saw tourists, tourists also saw him. When tourists noticed Du Jing, he did not turn his head and showed calmness to the scar on his nose.

"I'll pay the bill," Du Jing said, "It's raining soon. Let's change the place. Is there anything else I want to go?"

Zhou Luoyang shook his head. In fact, it was completely random to go out today. He wanted to say, "No more, go back to the dormitory?" But suddenly he remembered Du Jing's dialogue pattern and asked back, "I don't have more, where are you?"

"I want to go to a place," Du Jing replied, "go."

Du Jing settled the bill and went to the museum with Zhou Luoyang. There happened to be an Egyptian special exhibition. When he was visiting the exhibition, Zhou Luoyang thought to himself that question, otherwise Du Jing would have kept his opinion and went back to school with him.

After walking out, the rain finally fell. Thunder and lightning were lit in front of the museum, and heavy rain was pouring. Hundreds of tourists were crowded outside the door, all of whom were calling taxis on their mobile phones. Zhou Luoyang and Du Jing were trapped for a while, and it was as dark as night at five o'clock.

"Forgot to collect the clothes," Zhou Luoyang remembered, "What should I do?"

Du Jing said: "No matter it, go to the front, have supper and go back."

"Oh!" Zhou Luoyang shouted, but Du Jing ran into the rain. Zhou Luoyang had to run out and ran two streets behind him. Seeing Zhou Luoyang hiding under the tree, Du Jing turned around and said, "Be careful of thunder!" He turned around and took Zhou Luoyang's hand and led him to the open space.

This was the first time Zhou Luoyang held hands with a boy. Du Jing's hands were wet and rainy, but the temperature on his palms was still burning. After running to the place, the two started to eat hot pot in wetness. When the air conditioner was blown, Zhou Luoyang thought that he might catch a cold when he went back.

Du Jing's hair was half wet and blocked his eyebrows and eyes, like a confused Gu Mu. When he sat opposite Zhou Luoyang, he lowered his head to hook the menu, Zhou Luoyang suddenly burst into laughter.

"What are you laughing at?" Du Jing asked.

"Nothing," said Zhou Luoyang, "You are so handsome."

Du Jing raised his finger and pushed away his hair on his thick eyebrows. Zhou Luoyang had never had any opinion on the appearance of a man, but at this moment he suddenly discovered Du Jing's handsomeness and gloomy temperament. If it weren't for that obvious scar, Du Jing would definitely have a male god-level appearance in the body.

"I'm disfigured," Du Jing said, "I'm not good-looking. You're so handsome. When will you have a girlfriend?"

Zhou Luoyang took the menu and started to click what he wanted to eat, and replied: "It is because of his disguise that he looks handsome, with a kind of incomplete beauty, like a Venus with a broken arm. Without a wound, you are too handsome and too cold to reach. Now it is approachable."

Du Jing said: "You are such a person."

"Me?" Zhou Luoyang said in disbelief, "I am cold? Are you kidding me?"

"You are very polite and popular," Du Jing said. "You are very enthusiastic and considerate. Everyone likes you, but no one can get your sincerity."

Zhou Luoyang was suddenly hit by Du Jing and had to smile with self-deprecatingly.

"Because I have been educated since I was a child," Zhou Luoyang said, "I hope to be recognized by people around me, and I hope to be a good child who is loved by everyone."

Du Jing nodded and refused to comment. After ordering the dishes in Luoyang, Zhou said, "But I have learned a little from you. Don't worry about what others think. Your own feelings are the most important."

"That's it." Du Jing replied seriously.

The rain was still falling and the car could not be called everywhere. That day, both of them were soaked in the water. Zhou Luoyang was soaked all over his body, and he thought that he would catch a cold when he went back this time.

But there were things more troublesome than a cold waiting for them - when I returned to the dormitory, the window at the head of Du Jing's bed was blown open by the wind, and the rain poured in frantically from outside the window. Most of the bed was covered with water, and even the mattress was soaked.

Zhou Luoyang: “…”

Du Jing: "This window has always been like this. It has not been closed since the typhoon day."

The window was a little leaking. Zhou Luoyang called someone to repair it several times. After filling out the form and handing it in, the efficiency of the teacher was so touching. Du Jing tried it several times and barely repaired it, but because it was made of stainless steel, it was still not closed.

Zhou Luoyang sneezes and goes to take a shower first. Du Jing blocked the crack in the window so that water would not continue to seep in, and began to find a way to clean up the aftermath.

"Will you go out to check in to stay in the room at night?" Zhou Luoyang asked.

Du Jing was at a loss. When Zhou Luoyang came out of the bathroom, he saw him turning the mattress back and forth twice, but none of them could sleep. The sheets and pillows were all wet. He could not send them to dry directly, and he had to wash them all first tomorrow.

Du Jing: "No matter what, I'll take a shower first."

Zhou Luoyang raised the mattress next to the desk and let it drip water naturally. When Du Jing wiped his hair out, Zhou Luoyang was already lying on the bed and put a pillow on Du Jing.
