Special Chapter 10: The Spear of the Abyss and the Commander of Cusinda(1/2)

Karen and Hickrad exchanged glances on the back of the Cyclops, then nodded at the same time.

While the Cyclops raised its left arm a little irritatedly, Karen moved. He pulled out the short knife that was inserted into the Cyclops' elbow, and purple lightning was still beating on the blade.

When the Cyclops' arm was raised to the highest point, Karen jumped down from above, and everyone who saw this scene subconsciously held their breath and looked at Karen who was falling in the air without moving.

Karen pursed his lips tightly, his eyes staring at the head of the Cyclops getting closer and closer.

"It's almost here..." He began to silently recite in his heart, "Five, Four, Three, Two... One."

When he counted in his heart, his arm swung without hesitation. The precise calculation brought about a perfect result. The short knife opened a short gap on the Cyclops' head, and then stuck tightly into the Cyclops' wound.

The smelly blood that blew out of the wound splattered Karen all over, and the Cyclops let out an extremely resentful roar. The big hand that was originally planning to slap forward turned to the back of his head.

Seeing this, Hiccrad, who was still dormant on its right arm, hurriedly pulled out a short knife, and a hurriedly stained with a hint of green color, which looked both beautiful and dangerous.

He gave Karen a thumbs up, inserted the short knife into the elbow of the Cyclops' right hand, and then began to repeat the movement continuously until the toxin spread completely on the Cyclops' right arm.

For a creature like Cyclops with low intelligence, the pain of its entire right arm being almost corroded makes it unable to continue to concentrate on dealing with Karen on its head. In its current opinion, Hickrad on its right arm is an even more annoying ant.

Karen looked back at Hickrad with gratitude. With this opportunity, he quickly drew out the short knife, like a spider, climbing upwards along the back of the Cyclops' head until he reached its forehead.

Karen tried to stand up from its head, but kept moving, his body that was rising and falling and howling wind caused him a lot of difficulties.

"Damn it! The invisible wind of nature! Help me!"

Karen bent down, gave out a hand, and drew a rune of energy shield on its head with difficulty.

The soft breeze responded to his call, gathered from nature to his side, and then formed a cyan shield that kept spinning.

A green whirlwind kept gushing out of the surface of the shield, barely offsetting the thrust of the ubiquitous wind.

Relying on this shield, Karen finally stood tremblingly on the head of the Cyclops. Even so, he almost fell from the Cyclops' head several times.

"It's time to go to hell, you stupid thing!"

Karen stood above the Cyclops' head, just like a legendary hero who had surrendered the giant in mythology. He raised his hands high, and the clouds above his head began to change accordingly.

The originally clear sky quickly became extremely gloomy. Dark clouds began to gather above Karen's head and kept hovering in a vortex shape. A thick and dazzling thunder pillar descended from the center of the vortex and fell straight into Karen's hands.

He was instantly surrounded by extremely fierce white lightning, and his whole body was like a god of thunder. The constant thunder sounds from afar made his figure look taller and taller.

"Suffer to die!"

Without too many words, Karen pulled down his hands vigorously, and Thunder began to move according to his will. Countless powers of lightning surged into the huge eyes of the Cyclops under Karen's guidance. In just a short while, the huge eyeball burst out, and blood mist mixed with strange tissue splashed out from the wound.

The violent lightning did not stop there, but continued to move forward through the wounds in the eyes. The tissues and flesh along the way were turned into lifeless coke by them, and a strange stench quickly emanated from the Cyclops.

With its unwilling roar, lightning reached the end of their trip. The fragile brain could not resist such violent and powerful power at all. With a slight contact with lightning, the vitality of the Cyclops' brain was completely cut off. The voice of the Cyclops who had lost their life began to weaken gradually. After making the last cry, the body like a hill fell heavily to the ground.

"Ahem...ah," Karen climbed up from the Cyclops with difficulty, "How are you? Cara Erin Talos Hiccrad?"

"We're OK, Karen," Hickrad walked to the cyclops' body, covering his mouth and nose. "How are you?"

"I'm fine," Karen twisted his shoulders and jumped again to show that he was unscathed. "I just fell a little bit hurt."

Hickrad looked at him and patted his shoulder after confirming that he was indeed not a serious injury. "It's great that you're fine. We have lost too many people today," he sighed. "Come here, we're going to help Talos bury the two rune masters."

Karen also fell silent. Everyone knew that a creature like the Cyclops could not be the commander of the demon. They had not seen the leader of this group of demons, but had lost two companions. This has to be said to be a tragic failure.

"I get it," he nodded, "Let's go."

Hickrad glanced at him again, his mouth opened slightly, but finally he only sighed and turned around to lead Karen away from the body.

Under an extremely lush pine tree, Karen saw Drakovic, who had lost his life, and a set of clothes beside his body.

"Tanozia has been completely smashed into meat paste, so we have to use his clothes as a substitute," Kara explained, as if he was aware of Karen's inner surprise, and he looked full of guilt, "He died to save me...I..."

"It's okay, Kara," Talos walked over and gently patted the blue dragon on the shoulder. "At least at the last moment of his life, he showed his courage."

He turned and walked back to the bodies of the two, "Today we gather here to mourn our fellow people who died in this battle," he lowered his head slightly, "May El Cain guide you into the Kingdom of Death."

"May El Cain bless you."

Everyone bowed their heads and saw their companions off with Elkain's sacrifice.

After a brief sacrifice, Talos raised his head and waved his hand gently. The earth then swallowed the simple clothes and the corpse with a peaceful face.

"The dead are gone, soldiers, we must move on, the threat here has not been lifted, and there are more demonic threats waiting for us to deal with in the vast land of the empire."

All the soldiers of the Rune Division pursed their lips tightly, and their firm faces and weapons held high revealed their attitude.

"Very good," Talos nodded with relief, "We set out and must reach the top of this mountain before dark!"

◇◇◇◇◇

"oh……"

Saren rubbed his head and slowly stood up from the hard and cold wooden board. He felt extremely painful all over his body, and every breath still had a faint smell of blood.

"Are you awake, my old guy?" As if he heard the noise in the car, Grundill's inquiry came from the front seat.

"I'm fine, Grundill," Saren responded, "and it still hurts all over his body."

"It still hurts a little, right," Grundill responded in a relaxed tone. "Don't worry, great Mr. Red Dragon, we'll be able to get to a town right away, and you'll have a good sleep when you get there."

"I really don't know what I should do without you, Grundill."

"Hey, don't be so polite to me," Grundill replied angrily, "We don't have this affair, do you understand?"

"Forget it," Grundill said immediately, "You are of this kind of personality. There is something more important to tell you. After moving you back to the carriage, you are so heavy that I go back, pick up the shield and spear of the dragon man, and put it in the carriage."

Upon hearing this, Saren immediately began to look at the carriage compartment, and soon found the sharp spear and strange shield, which were thrown away by Glendill in the corner of the carriage like garbage.

"See, right, although I don't know what material these things are," Grundill's voice quickly rang again, with a little complacent in it, "but I guess this thing must be an ordinary treasure, after all, it is the weapon of that...uh... Dragon Man General."

"You're right, Glendill," Saren smiled happily, "these two things are the most valuable treasures in him."

"Ah, we're here," the carriage began to slow down slowly, and Grendill's joyful voice came, "It seems that there are no vampires or demons here, which is a good thing."

"I'll go park first," he continued, "and then we'll find a hotel and stay comfortably for one night. You can tell me the strangeness of these two things, what do you think?"

"Of course, go quickly."

"Okay."

Grundill drove his carriage skillfully through the crowded streets, and soon arrived at the nearest carriage house.

Saren lay quietly in the carriage. After a small burst of noise, the carriage stopped completely, and the curtain behind the carriage was also lifted, and a little dazzling sunlight came in.

"Don't stay here, sir," Grendill stepped into the carriage and waved to Saren with a smile. "Come on, I've asked where the nearest hotel is."

"Here's it," Saren turned around, held the spear and shield in his arms, and followed Grundill out of the car. In terms of human height, this spear can be said to be a "super spear", and the round shield was almost the size of a tower shield.

The two weapons of this size quickly attracted countless passers-by's vigilant and curious eyes. Saren frowned and walked quickly to Grundill, "Grundill, Grundill, I don't like being watched by so many people."

"So too, old guy," Grundill smiled bitterly, "these two weapons are so conspicuous, why do you take them out?"

"I'm not at ease when I put it in the car," Saren replied whispering, "If this thing is picked up or touched by ordinary people, something bad will happen."

"Ah, I get it," Grundill nodded, "The bad thing Salenovis said is the end of the world for ordinary people."

Saren gave him a blank look and continued to follow him quickly. The two of them quickly arrived at the hotel near the station.

"Hey," Grundill stopped Saren, who was about to open the door and enter, "You just wait here now, old man, the tavern is full of people. You don't want others to notice what you are doing, do you?"

Saren thought for a while, nodded, turned around and leaned against the door, "Do it quickly, I can only feel at ease if I put this thing in the room."

Grendill gave him a thumbs up, smiled and pushed the door and walked into the hotel.

Saren pulled his collar, pressed his hat brim, and waited quietly next to the hotel gate. Grendill moved quickly, and in just a few minutes he walked out again, "It's done, the hotel owner is even willing to let us enter the hotel through the back door."

"What?" Saren looked at Glendill in surprise, "How did you do it?"

"There is nothing that Jin Pu'er can't handle, old man," Grundill smiled smugly, "If Jin Pu'er is not enough," he took out a small document from his pocket, "and then add a certificate of action from the Royal Rune Division."

"You really have you, Grundill," Saren also laughed, followed Grundill to the back door of the hotel, a middle-aged man was waiting here rubbing his hands.

"Finally," he breathed a sigh of relief after seeing Grendill, and looked at Saren respectfully, "Is this the other rune master you are talking about? Please come in quickly, I will take you upstairs now."

Grendill and Saren nodded, followed him into the hotel through the back door. After confirming that no one was following, the man closed the back door, "Please come with me, two adults."

While following the man, Grendill whispered to Saren next to him: "He is the owner of this hotel."

"A man with great ideas," Saren whispered, "he saved us a lot of trouble."

The two followed the hotel owner all the way to the second floor, turned several turns and reached the deepest part of the second floor.

"It's here," the hotel owner stopped in front of the two rooms opposite the door. He took off two keys from his waist and handed them to Salen and Grundill, respectively. "This is the room of the two adults. This place is definitely secret enough. Most people will not come to such a deep place. As for the meals of the two adults, I will deliver them in person at regular intervals."

"Very good," Grundill nodded, then took out a few gold Pu'er from the cloth bag on his belt and handed it to him, "You should understand what to do today, right?"

"Of course," the innkeeper nodded quickly, "I have never seen two adults."

Grundill nodded again, "Go, remember what you said."

The innkeeper bent down and retreated from the two of them. Saren took the key, opened the door to his room, and walked in with Glendill.

"Okay," Grundill turned and closed the door, "Can you tell me the strangeness of these two weapons now?"

"Of course," Saren carefully placed the spear and shield under the bed, then clapped his hands and sat down at the edge of the bed. "These two things are made of fog stones. The spear is called the Abyss Spear, and this shield is called the Lightless Shield."

"Misty Stone?" Grundill raised his eyebrows, "You mean..."

"Yes, both of these things are from Strad's hands, which is why mortals must never touch them," Saren said firmly. "Strad's dark magic can easily corrupt ordinary people who come into contact with them. These poor people either turn into plague zombies or brainless low-level demons. If these two things are leaked, it would be a disaster for the empire."
